Support Student Hires

Throughout the past couple of years, Student Hires has launched numerous initiatives to support Educational Resources and Afterschool Programming for youth throughout California.

In 2023, Student Hires launched afterschool.org, a student and community-centered approach to afterschool programming. As families continue to experience the strains of childcare costs, afterschool programming becomes immensely more important to families.

As we enter 2024 and continue to expand our efforts, Student Hires strives to be a primary source of opportunity for youth: not only through valuable work experiences, but also through quality educational programming and specifically, afterschool programming.

Student Hires plans to continue expanding afterschool programming services to K-12 districts and continue offering its services to families throughout California.

As Student Hires continues to offer its afterschool programming services to districts, it will utilize afterschool.org as a community hub to provide families with information, educational resources, and connections to community, all free of charge.

With the development of this community hub, orgnizations will be able to engage with existing educational programs within the Student Hires Opportunity Network. Each organization can engage in various work-based learning opportunities such as job shadowing, mentorship, workshops, and more.

This educational hub will utilize the Student Hires staffing model to build innovative solutions for families within our network. These solutions will come in many forms, all designed to contribute to the well-being of families.

Maria joined Student Hires in October of 2021. Maria started as a classroom teacher, leading classes of elementary-aged students and soon grew into coordinating various programs for Student Hires. Maria has grown numerous skills while working with Student Hires such as practical in-class experience, along with managerial experience that can assist her in leading future organizations. Danilo joined a Student Hires Afterschool program in the 2022-2023 school year. Because of a speech impediment, Danilo suffered from various communication and confidence issues. By participating in a full-year Student Hires afterschool program, Student Hires staff saw an increase in:

Through community-centered and collaborative afterschool programs, Student Hires bridges K-12 with local businesses to provide a network of enriching opportunities for students. In turn, we develop youth through a collaborative effort focused on enhancing educational and foundational competencies.

Through this page, Student Hires is seeking support to ensure success in 2024 and beyond. Donations can be a fixed amount and subscription based as well. To donate as an individual, enter your contact information and select a donation amount. Organizations can choose to enter their organization's name to ensure they receive appropriate recognition for the donation. Though Student Hires is not a non-profit organization, your donation directly supports students and families within our network.
